Differentiation through expertise at transitions – Susan Bradley on the Becoming Referable podcast

Today on the Becoming Referable podcast, we’re thrilled to be joined by Susan Bradley, founder of the Sudden Money® Institute.

Financial planning is all about transitions. And Susan is simply the go-to person to help advisors acquire the skills and tools they need to help clients going through transitions. She tells us the shocking revelation that uncovered this critical need, and the details of the certification program, with each component built to address what matters most to clients. We discuss how advisors can become an invaluable partner through life changes. We explore why going beyond your technical expertise and connecting with the personal aspects of these transitions is crucial to the client and fundamental to the success of your firm. Susan shares specific examples of the utilizing this expertise, especially in your client meetings. Becoming skilled at facilitating transitions has huge implications for your client relationships, referrals, and setting yourself apart.

A former advisor herself, Susan has created the Certified Financial Transitionist® (CeFT®) designation, as well as an organization for training and certification called the Financial Transitionist® Institute. She has served on the FPA’s National Board of Directors, currently sits on the NFLPA’s Financial Education Advisory Board, and she serves as the Dean of Transitions for the Council of Deans of the Purposeful Planning Institute. She is the author of Sudden Money: Managing a Financial Windfall and her TEDx talk is called, “Change launches you into the next great chapter of your life, whether you like it or not.”
