The importance of system

The key to consistent service delivery is a well designed system. Each function in a financial advisor's practice needs the 4 Ps: Policy, person, procedure, proof. From there, you can create checklists and work flow.

Role Play

Key to running an effective advisory practice is to play the right role at the right time. I see this principle broken all the time in advisors practices. Here are some of the ideas and readings behind that principle, with examples.

Top 10 Habits to Drop

Your Daily Morning Checklist

One fundamental practice management principle is to make sure you know what you need to do today. Check out the new look!

As the financial advisor checklist project grows, the blog has a new platform and new look.

I know, the blog is only a month old.  A big part of what I hope for this project is that it will become a place where financial advisors can download sample checklists and post ones they have found useful, and exchange comments about how incorporating them into their practice management is working.

Shortly after starting the blog, I found I had lots of difficulty figuring out how to accomplish that on the platform I chose.  (Not that it could not be done - it may be that I just could not figure out how to do it!)

And anyone who has read my writing before - I know!  I should be outsourcing the web work.  Feel free to post snarky comments, but I already know.

I will be posting some sample checklists shortly, and adding pages where you can post yours as well, to get feedback from other advisors, or just to share.

I hope you like the new look. Let me know what you think of it, and what you would most like to see added or changed.
